Oh fuck I was going to write on Middlemarch, something about the thwarting of all human ambition and what it means for one to count oneself successful or a failure, or something depressing like that. Should I not? I can't think of anyhting else to write about except maybe Hume or Milton.
This year is rough, there has been little to nothing I enjoyed on the seminar list and Mr. Smith isn't very familiar with Newton which is what I initially wanted to write on. But I'm writing on whether or not you need love to be happy and what loves relationship is to marriage, based around Pride and Prejudice.
I could picture you doing Moliere for some reason. A lot of people are writing on Middlemarch, I can see why despite not liking it. I second Ben: Milton and Hobbes (and the rest of that political bullshit we read) suck. Kant is too rough for me to even consider.
Iowa is great, of course. Check out Bennington, too... and Warren Wilson. If you have never been to Asheville, you should go. The surrounding mountains are beautiful.

I wrote the only senior essay on Hobbes.
I love him more than I love anyone else in the world.
