The concert was so much more than I expected it to be. We MET HIM! We met Josh freaking Kelley!! We shook his hand (I still haven't washed the hand he touched, and I don't know how I'll deal when I eventually have to), he gave us his autograph (with our names!), and we got pictures taken with him. Elisabeth brought up the musical theater recital during my lesson today. I hate the genre more and more with each passing day, but it gives me the warm fuzzies when Elisabeth says she wants me to have performance opportunities, plus "Poor wand'ring one" is in my so-called musical theater anthology, so I'm going to be in the recital. I've decided to perform 'O zittre nicht' as my initial jury piece. Yes, the Queen of the Night aria I've been working on for less than two months takes preference over all the other pieces. How? Well, the coloratura section from 'O zittre nicht' is actually more comfortable for me than the one in 'Quel guardo il cavaliere.' And I can guarantee ( Read more... )
