You keep saying that (you and your little friends). As if we weren't perfectly aware that it is mandatory to use these journals and the failure to do so would result in having house points taken from us.

I understand that Gryffindor needs every advantage in order to compete for the House Cup, but you aren't going to place simply by default.

The only reason I'm "finally getting around to using the thing" is that I've been far too busy working and studying to crack it open so far. Something that I'm sure you wouldn't understand.

Hello, Narcissa. My summer was... quite the same as it usually is. Rather productive. It seems a shame to be going back to school, really.

Oh, I've been very productive, too. I've organized my wardrobe, ordered a full set of new robes, and even managed to completely change the design of my boudoir. What did you do?

I've mastered a few new curses and hexes, and of course the counter-curses that go along with them. Accomplished a lot of reading that I'd been meaning to get around to... I also have a few new potions, quite complicated, that are nearing completion.
