That was lovely! Ron and Hermione won't get the perfect Valentine's Day as they're not a "perfect couple" (though of course they match perfectly). It was sad to see Harry like that but it's nice to know he gets a wonderful trip to NZ in a couple of year's time. Thanks for sharing this, Mary.

Uh. I think we're going to see a lot of sad, but resolute Harry in DH. Sigh. But JKR will take care of him by the end.

LOL - no, R/Hr are not perfect and that's why we love 'em. It's getting the rough edges down without going into caricature that is so difficult for me.

Yes, I can see that getting just the right level of conflict into the relationship would be difficult. There is so much fanfiction that just goes too far. Harry and Ginny are different: mostly a calm relationship but with major blo-outs now and again. I hadn't thought about the Weasley's liking to show their relationships off to the world but your right. Even Percy! And I suppose Fred was very public in getting a partner for the Yule Ball.

And Molly talking about Celestina Werbeck songs. They are a demonstrative family - both in their fighting and in their affection.

Oh, St. Margarets, no one writes this stuff like you do! That was wonderful!

One of the things I love about your sexier scenes is how you emphasize the sensation of touch. warm lips, hard lines of his shoulders under her fingertips, hard length of his thigh and even the rucksack bumping against Hermione's legs when she was climbing the stairs - those phrases bring us right into the scene and we feel along with the characters.

I felt this conflict was spot on for their personalities. There was absolutely NO venture into caricatures - this was realistic and heartfelt. And Harry, of course, is wonderfully portrayed. I will only read your Harry. I love him. Though I feel so bad for him.

And oh, how I love the way you lead us down the garden path to your ending.

Perfect.

I'm glad the conflict seemed right for their personalities - I'm sure many an R/Hr writer has tackled the "Harry Question" but it seemed to work for the time frame I chose.

I couldn't resist throwing Harry in there. I do like his friendship with Hermione (esp. after HBP where he tried to be helpful after the bird attack and disapproved of her McClaggen tactics.)

LOL - garden path. That's about what a fluffy one shot is, isn't it?

Aww. Of course you will, Ron. Of course you will. Only rowan, one of the most magical woods, would do for you! I have so many favourite parts of this story:

Harry laughed. “You kissed Ron in the Great Hall in front of the whole school.”

“That was different! It was for Quidditch.”

“Oh?” He raised an eyebrow at her.

“Harry,” she said weakly.

“I’m going somewhere that is not the kitchen,” he said pointedly, mounting the stairs. Hermione turned the other way, one part of her thinking about Ron and the other part marveling at how Harry had avoided the question of whether he was in contact with Ginny or not. - mwhahahaha, go Harry, go! ;) I love how adept he's becoming at avoiding Hermione's questions.

“I didn’t think you’d make that. Potoato and Leek? Right?”

“No, cock-a-leekie soup.”

“Same thing.”

“I just wanted to say ‘cock-a-leekie.’” - oh, that's so Ron, I love it!

Soon she was sitting on the counter with her legs wrapped around his waist and her hands under the back of his t-shirt. He was touching her too, so ( ... )

I'm glad you liked it - and I did have fun with Ron and the leeks and Harry and Hermione. :)

I'm always surprised the rowan hasn't shown up in the HP series yet. But there's one more left! Thanks for reading! I'm always a wreck when it comes to this pairing.
