If it is any consolation, a very large benign cyst was discovered on my left ovary when I was pregnant with my first. I had an ovarectomy at the same time they delivered her by c-section. Having one remaining ovary did not affect my ability to get pregnant subsequently, as (you probably know this) the one ovary kicks in and releases the egg monthly, instead of bi-monthly.
