Depending on the severity (and it sounds like you're describing it as pretty severe!) I'd go to the doctor and get medical advice.

If it's not that severe, I might try nicotine replacement of some sort and an antihistamine like diphenhydramine in Benadryl. And go see a doctor!

It's been 9 1/2 months for me and I still use a small amount of nicotine gum on a daily basis.

Good luck and I hope you feel better!

I second the Benadryl. If anything, it will help you relax.

Any kind of withdrawal can lower your immune system so that might be your problem. The itching could be your body trying to expel some of the toxins in your body. I'm having to deal with horrible itching as a result of a complication of pregnancy and I totally sympathize with you. Starting back won't really help, though, since you'll just end up having to go through those symptoms next time you try and quit.

You should probably call your doctor and see what they say about it. If you want to fight it out on your own, then you may want to consider going to a good health food or vitamin store and doing a detox to see if that helps.
