I always think short stories are fun. Then you don't get tied up in reading really long stories that you can't follow once you have to put the book down. You might try Roald Dahl, I'm told he's really good. Honestly, I also like reading PG Wodehouse (Jeeves and Wooster). The stories are really funny, more clever than the TV shows because there are lots of jokes that don't translate well to TV, and in case your tripmates are less than interesting (or totally tiresome to be around), reading those books will lighten your mood no matter what.
"Please Kill Me" is a really engaging fast read of interwoven interviews. I'll send it to you when people return it to me. Have the best time in Cambodia...im mondo jealous. Maybe you can adopt a kid while youre there.
