You remind me of my Grade 9 Science teacher. He was new to our high school the year my classmates and I started. I think he was new to teaching, too. The coolest teacher imaginable! He'd joke around with us and offer extra help and was the most patient teacher I'd ever met. I think even if the materials were hard and marks handed back weren't great, we still had little to complain about. That's really great. I know how hard it is to leave kids, and how awesome it feels when they show their appreciation for you. I always knew you'd make a great teacher.

But about the aggressive driving thing... when people do that to me and thank me, it actually just pisses me off even more. So when I do it to other people, I don't thank them. I dunno, for some reason I think doing so is rude. I will thank them only when they've actually willingly let me in.

The whole idea about thanking them IS to piss them off, because they should have let me in without giving me a hard time. =o)

Leavin the kids is hard, but I'll visit. It's just off the highway between home and school.

Sounds like you have been learning just as much from them as they have from you. A lovely life truth.
