They should have mentioned the Vicki Barr series of books on that site! They came out beginning in 1947 and featured a young girl living the ultra-glamorous (!) life of an airline stewardess, solving mysteries while flirting with her handsome pilot. My grandmother had some of the books so I read them as a kid (probably in the early eighties). I remember thinking it was sort of weird that Vicki was so very keen on becoming a stewardess, but overall I liked the books. She fought crime!

asian airlines are keeping this shit Alive. i had a 14-hour layover at Incheon International, Korea, and watching the stewardesses walk around in smiley bizarrely clad little packs was Amazing, as was brushing my teeth next to them in the impeccable bathrooms.
