Rejected

I guess it didn't matter that the guy from the publisher came to ME and asked me to send him a manuscript. "It's a good sign" means nothing. I got an email today saying the manuscript was rejected. Apparently there are two reasons why: 1) the market is tight right now, so they're not willing to venture into a genre that isn't in their mainstream

Oh... ouch... :( I'm so sorry, Melissa. This year has been such a struggle and that is a huge kick in the pants. I'm thinking fondly of you over here.

Thanks, hon. It hurts to be told my writing is not good enough. You've known me long enough to know how important it is to me. And with two books and several dozen articles behind me, I just didn't dream this book would get rejected. Last night I was thinking about what a colossally crappy week this has been, but thank goodness I would be getting good news from the publisher to offset the bad stuff. Oh well...

No matter what, though, it lifts me up and makes me happy to hear from friends who care. Thanks so VERY much!!!
