chivalry.

so, chivalry. it's one of the most romantic things a guy can do and it's very easy. why do you think girls like watching 'chick flicks'? things like opening doors, helping somebody out of the car, standing when a girl walks in the room or stands up from the table, walking her to the door, etc, etc. these guys in the movies aren't realistic. *opens door*
*waits on girl*
*closes door*
*screams at the dog that ran through while the door was open*
*chases dog*
*falls down stairs*
*gets put in cast*
*nurse hits on for being cute*
*marries nurse*
Man, I love chivalry.

rachel, you said lots and lots of good things about chivalry, but the most important thing that you said there was, "yay for WHOEVER THAT GUY WAS"
see?
Women are the one killing chivalry. Guys have learned that being ridiculously nice like that for no reason gets them nowhere. Of course the girl thinks they're nice, but that's it. They don't want to makeout with them for it. That's the important lesson here. If girls think that chivalry is THAT important, then they should reward those guys with some action.

My point is that guy did something nice, and he got pretty much nothing out of it. Even though you appreciated it, he doesn't know that for sure.

haha! well i'd never met this guy before so i thought it'd be weird to make out with him. but i did smile and say 'thanks'. but i think the point of being chivalrous isn't to get something out of it, but just to be chivalrous. doing it only to get something out of it kinda defeats the point of doing it in the first place. that's being selfish, not chivalrous. the fat ugly lady in the muumuu should have the door opened for her too. and i'm not putting it all on boys either. boys AND girls should help out the elderly people and those who can't help themselves. we play a part in keeping it alive.
