Last night, my mom shared an article with me that discussed some of the goings-on at Kutz this summer. It was an interesting read, and kind of made me wish I was there. Its been three summers since I've worked at Kutz, and I feel pretty disconnected from that community. Nevertheless, the four summers I spent at Kutz had a pretty deep impact on me. ( Read more... )

I will be in NYC after this year. And my concern isn't so much for me years in NY (although Shabbat will already be more of an issue, depending on where we live, since we likely won't be able to afford Manhattan or Park Slope), but for the years after.

As for individual versus community, its certainly something I struggle with, more for certain communities than others (though my point was mostly, and in my head the example was JITW, was that if members of the community give creating and maintaining the community a high priority, lots of issues both of asthetics and content can be overcome)
