Walking up the the labyrinth tonight I could hear laughter and teasing.   I came upon three generations of a family walking the labyrinth together.  One of the women of the middle generation said that her mother lived right next to the labyrinth (literally the closest house) and had never walked it so they were making her do it.  Everyone seemed to ( Read more... )

George is doing late naps and was wide wide awake at 'bedtime' this evening.  I decided to pop him on my back and walk with him.  It has bee a while since he has gone with me.  I left him in the carrier and he seemed to be getting sleepy and laying his head on my chest so I continued on a walk after the labyrinth.  Picked some blackberries along ( Read more... )

Today was an ideal day.  Early morning off to the lake so we could have hours there and still be home around 4.  Time enough to shower, bath the boys, make a nice dinner, eat out in the air on our new table that the boys fixed up yesterday, slide the boys into bed and walk the labyrinth before the dusk had settled in.

Forgot the pride parade was today.  Drove to Stanley park attempting to go right through the parade route.  Took a long time.  Sigh.  Had a fun afternoon despite that and a late walk after a dinner out.  It was cooler tonight and with the breeze I felt a hint of coldness as I was walking. 

Another Saturday, another dinner with friends, another late evening drop off while Keva took the boys home and up to bed.  I had a pretty quick walk and headed home.  Nice not to have a kitchen full of dishes and get to spend a little time being at home together without kids or urgent responsibilities.  Resisted to urge to simultaneously surf the ( Read more... )

Some nights I have something to say and other nights the routine is self satisfying and I wonder why I am bothering to keep this log.  I counted my steps again tonight which I find centering while I am walking.  I didn't hold the numbers in my mind afterwards though.  It was simply the act of counting and breathing I found helpful.

Feeling better!  The weather was so hot today that when Keva got home from work instead of coming in and making dinner we headed right over to New Brighton Pool for a quick evening swim.  It was my first time there this summer which is surprising considering how much I like it there.  Late swim leads to late dinner leads to it being quite late when ( Read more... )

Strep Throat!  The fever hit when we were downtown after a very very busy day.  Walking back to the train and training home were overwhelming enough that I knew I couldn't do the labyrinth.  I didn't think I would be out of commission for so many days but there you have it.  Once I managed to get people dressed, fed, to camp, from camp, napped etc ( Read more... )
