yeah. heard it on the radio this morning with my mum she thought it was stupid and there was no point of even mentioning it to the public because 'the gov't didn;t have enough information and was just creating hysteria and getting everyone freaked out'. [according to her.]
i told her that i didn;t see the problem in mentioning these threats b/c if something actually does happen the gov't has to cover itself. it they hadn;t had mentioned these threats, and the attacks occured and the public found out that the gov't knew about it the whole time, there could be a really bad situation. the gov't has to cover themselves incase something really does happen but you never know. al-qeuda could just being making all these threats to try and sound like the 'big-dawg', you know? i guess there isn;t anything we can do right now apart from see what happens
i agree with your mom. the media has no morals. i definately think that the country has a right to know about everything, but it seems to have gone to far.
yeah - also for arguments sake - do you think maybe the government isnt giving up information because they are afraid that might cause hysteria - because legally the public has to know whether there are threats or not - so do you think maybe they are with helding information instead of giving to much?
i agree with you. i think there is definetely a lot of info that the gov't hides/doens;t release to the public. reasons being 1. [like you said] affraid of coursing histeria. 2.affraid of a revolt/being turned against.
i just can;t get it around my head the ammount of censorship that drifts through this country
