Sometimes people who are initially opposed to same-sex marriage just need some time to mull it over. It seems like such people might be more unimaginative than they are homophobic. Take my grandmother for example. In 2000, California had some anti-same-sex-marriage voter initiative, and she said she was voting for it because "marriage is about having children." Just a few years later, she and I were talking when the issue came up again, and she blurted out, "I don't know why people are so opposed to gay marriage! What business is it of theirs? Marriage is about love!" And then in 2008 she was very excited about voting against Prop 8. I suspect that in her case, she just needed a couple of years to mull over her logic and reconsider her premises.

I hope no one refuses to go to your wedding because of any prejudices they might have, but if they do, they might be more supportive of you and your partner a few years down the line -- I hope so, anyway.

Yeah; sometimes it does just take time, and I definitely hope that is the case as well. I also hope that if one does decline an invitation, it will be in a respectful manner and not in a way that also calls down the "wrath of God" down upon us, heh. Thanks for your well-wishes! :)
