Granola
I made some granola last night -- super simplistic, just oats, some nuts, raisins, and cinnamon, ginger, salt, with the usual binding of oil, water, molasses. And it, by golly, is the best one I've made this year. I put it in a refurbished pickle jar to store, and it is lovely over fruit and/or yogurt. Boring, but still. -
Comings and goings.
I visit UND this last weekend, which was surprisingly stressful. Totally different recruiting weekend experience; there were 60 of us total, sharing hotel rooms, and, at least for the lab I was looking at, multiple candidates (~5-6 of us for 2-3 positions ( Read more... ) -

U of AR, ramblings
So, I got flown into the University of Arkansas for a visit. It was awesome. Super flattering, on the one hand, and totally exceeded my own Yankee expectations in regards to culture and geography, which was quite pleasant. Reading about marriage
I read an assortment of interesting blogs that span the realm of subject matter - science, life and/or lifestyle, satiric,food, etc. - both here and on other blogging sites, and today I read something that really struck me. I did end up seeing David Sedaris last night and it was pretty awesome. I wish I'd had the time to wait through the insanely long line to talk for a moment with him, but I didn't, needing to get home and do trivial things like hanging with my dog, sleeping, and calling my girlfriend to try and make her jealous of my experience ( Read more... )
