Ok the day was supposed to begin with a trip to Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge but tickets were sold out so that will be a Tuesday trip. So a quick change brought us to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. We began with a quick steetcar trip which was way cheaper and nicer than the trolley (screw you Trolley Nazi). Our first official day in San Fran had on the search for breakfast. We had passes for the subway which we took on a short jaunt and ended up only a few short blocks where we found an old 50's sort of diner. Well we have officially made it to the west coast. This is our first endeavor with the all family trip. We finally made it to a parade this Mardi Gras season. Spanishtown parade was a lot of fun. I was surprised by all the political statement, the jabs, and the comedy of it all. funny how searching
always wanting the one
and when attained
it is still a game
to desire more

the need to find
belittles the present
and cheapens happiness
so on one presses
never ever satisfied

For those of who don't know, my soon to be ex husband has had my kids for some time now. My oldest did choose to live with his father and was only to be there for one year.
