well finally

I saw a shirt today that said "I'm too cute to do math" if I saw somebody actually wearing that I would smack them upside the head with a calculus book. Women need to stop dumbing themselves down in the way they dress, act, and how they perceive the world. They need to realize that just because they beat boys in certain areas doesn't ( Read more... )

Yea...

And some of us really DO suck at math, I think I'd throw rocks at a girl wearing that shirt. -.-;

Or I'd have to get a "I'm too busy kicking your ass to do math" shirt.

Have fun with your AP classes babe.

That t-shirt implies also that physical appearance can compensate for intellegence, and only those less attractive need to seek knowelege. Although then they are seeking mediocrity and enforcing the stereotype of either "Beautiful or brainy, never both." Of course these women are the same who become items rather than partners in relationships, and most of these ideals stem from trauma in their developing years, i.e. Being beaten, harrased, assaulted, neglected, or taught demeaning values. So in a sense, these women's desire to be images and not whole people are not neccesarily their fault, but the women can still facilitate change in themselves if they desire so. What is difficult is persuading them that the message on their 35 dollar t-shirt they bought at Kohl's is flawed.
