If a rose by any other name still smells as sweet, then it is only logical to say the same for the other side of life. What has happened has happened, and i don't see how calling it by its name now is going to change things. I definitely see your conundrum. I'm not sure what our government is trying to do. And this is too often the case these days. Why folks feel the need to dredge up dirty laundry that has been put to bed for quite some time is beyond me. Perhaps it is to deflect attention from our own dirty laundry, which really stinks quite a bit. "You think we are bad, well, what about thost Turks in 1915?? They were way worse!" This moral relativism really pisses me off as well. There's no good excuse for it, just excuses. But yes, the Turks did enact genocide on the Armenians. I think we have a mutual friend who would certainly agree with that one, her and the rest of her family.
