This is foms typing, again.

ragnhildr was a brilliant mind lost far too soon. Before she became ill, she was a regulatory drafter for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. We will all miss ragnhildr, her love of language, of music, of science fiction, and of her cats.

ragnhildr died, yesterday, just before noon.

I don't have a lot to say, other than that I will miss her, a lot.

At some point, we will get organized to have a memorial party for her. More, when we are more organized.

I managed to get to day hospice yesterday. Transferring to the special chair looked medium scary, and I wasn't sure how well I would do sitting, but it all worked out. Got some socializing, painted a bit and had lunch with my posse. It was awesome but an exhausting day. I am already looking forward to next tuesday!

My Mom has arrived from Saskatoon to visit. Yay! This is the second time her visit has coincided with large amounts of snow, but it feels warm and safe to be surrounded by family ( Read more... )

Yesterday, I ran into someone I know here! One of the people I know from hospice day program is also admitted. He is on an exercise regime and doing laps in the hallway and I thought, I know that voice. It was nice to see members of my posse again.

The weekend was extremely stressful for reasons that appear to be misunderstandings about control of my treatment...and who is in control. My regular team is back, and things feel much much better now. My peeps have been here with me basically all weekend, which hasbeen enormously comforting, but is not sustainable, so I am extra special plus ( Read more... )

I am back in hospital due to shortness of breath. I am being treated for blood clots in the lungs, but the shortness of breath is not improving. There is now talk of hospice, although nothing is definite at this point.
