Oh hai! I didn't realize this notified people when using their LJ names, but I guess it makes sense.

I had a password weirdness over a decade ago when OKCupid told me they already had an account with my e-mail address. I didn't think I had signed up with them before.
It turned out I had used some quiz-taking site in college, and OKCupid evolved from them.
