I was looking for a travel alarm clock last night at Target. Was unsatisfied by the options. Eventually realized that I was doing it the completely stupid way. What the hell do I need a travel alarm clock for? The right answer is DIGITAL WATCH.

Alas, my cellphone will be turned off most of the time to preserve battery during total absence of network. Plus it's from the 1800s so I am not sure about alarm capability.

Yes, and then you can take the band off too (or use the band to hang it from a suitcase handle or something).
