Sometimes on New Year's I like looking back over the year and see the good in it. 2005 was very tough for me, but there were definitely good times. The boy and I traveled quite a bit last year. Our dream of going to Italy finally came to fruition. Here are some photos from that trip.

oh it all sounds fabulous! No wonder you weren't around!

Florence is one of my most favorite places in the world. I miss Italy so much and hope I can get back there again soon.

It was hard for us to pick a favorite place in Italy. We liked almost every place. But, Venice and Burano were particularly enjoyable for us...wandering around the warren of tiny streets. That was heavenly!

My best Florence memory was being there in front of Sta. Maria del Croce during the St. Joseph's day market eating a savory italian sandwich called a "piadina" from one of the street vendors. It was early spring, so we were shivering as we huddled together eating that cheesy marvel. Ohhhh...happy memories!

I do hope you get to go back soon. It's just a place where you need to go back again...and again.
