Upon going off, thinking about it, and rereading this, I think you've definitely pointed out something I'd never considered to be a kink on it's own. I mean I've read enough BDSM!fic that I've seen this kind of thing along with other kinks, but never on it's own.

It surprised me just how poignant this was on top of being well...hot. o_0 My own reaction was slightly surprising as well, since I tend to be very sensitive to criticism. But seriously this was a very well written piece. =3

It's awesome you came back to tell me about that! When I wrote the story I considered writing more, letting them have some rough sex, but I decided not to, because I really wanted this to be about the verbal part in itself instead of making it kinky by letting Gibbs slap Tony around during sex.

Many people like dirty talk and it's interesting to know one can actually react not just to obviously sexually charged vocabulary, but expressions that have negative connotations along with very sexual ones. What's really surprising is that it doesn't have to say anything about your own feeling of self-worth. It can be just a form of mental role-play, both partners pretend to think like that about the one being insulted. Also, it's often very different from how you take actual criticism. I think it's incredibly hot, but at the same time I'm pretty bad at getting over any kind of negative critique in real life.

A lot of fetishes can go both ways - they can be hot and they can be tragic. For most people it's a lot of the second and sometimes some of the first. It helps to know that even fetishes like this one don't HAVE to mean there's something wrong with you, but it's never only hot, it always stays painful.
(I sound patronizing, I don't mean to, I just don't know how else to explain my thoughts on the "kink" thing.)

I hope you didn't just dislike the story's approach on the topic in general!

Oh, NO! NO! I get what you're saying. ^^ I liked the story and the topic and I applaud you for being able to write it. I just felt that at first read, it's just so painful because _I_ don't deal well with people name-calling and putting-down others personally! ^^

It's just that you know in fics with kink, you get the kink (mostly during the sex) and then reality comes back in, but in this fic, there is no continuation... err...

And I think I know what you mean, it's like you read about somebody's kinks and because it's written as something that turns people on you feel kind of okay about it, but then you think about it and you realize "Damn, that's not just a sex thing" and it's not just a turn-on anymore. Did I understand that? ^^
That's how I sometimes feel when I read REALLY kinky stuff. Makes for awkward situations in real life. ^^

Sorry, you have a really good style, but this doesn't even feel like a fetish, it just feels abusive. Not even the fetish-type abusive, just nasty and preying on someone desperate for care. Leaves a really unpleasant taste.

I can assure you that it can actually be a fetish to be treated like Tony is in this story. The things he offers to pay for are completely and utterly ridiculous (but I admit, maybe that's not obvious enough) and Gibbs wound never ever agree to anything like that. He doesn't actually mean the degrading things he says, just like Tony does not believe them. This is a form of none explicit role-play and people get off on it just like they can get off on rape-fantasies.
Not trying to make you like the story or anything, I just wanted to maybe let you see it from a different angle. You have every right not to enjoy this, I'm okay with that!
