Re: Just curious as to why and when, really.rainbow_sleeveJuly 13 2008, 11:18:37 UTC
Just recently, darling.
Look, I think you are a really interesting guy. And I do want to keep in touch - you're still on my Facebook and I presume we will meet up for Nanowrimo and all...
... but some of your entries recently have me troubled. And yeah - the nekkid photo was the most significant. Not because it was of you in a birthday suit - anyone can post whatever they want - but the manner in which you posted. There was the web counter to monitor who saw it and how many "hits" you have, and the attitude of "immediate posting for most attention-grabbing result" ...
... Peter isn't some brand, or some entertainment for me. Peter is a human being. I wanted to keep in touch with YOU, not read about the Peter that is being 'marketed'. I am not a consumer. I just wanted to keep in touch with an interesting guy.
You will probably disagree with me, and maybe post onto your LJ about how people are misunderstanding, but that is the way that I see it. Sorry darling. :(
I think that it's a bit rude not letting me know, but other than that, I'm not at all annoyed.peterchaywardJuly 13 2008, 11:23:42 UTC
Haha, that's fine! That's actually quite a relief - my mind was going all kinds of places, and I was going through a number of scenarios.
Honestly, if I have to be defriended by a friend, that's one of the best reasons that I can think of for doing it. :P
I'll defriend you, because even though I'm quite interested in your life, your posts are friends-locked, so there's not a lot of point me being on your list.
Me, I'm a brand. I'm quite happy being a brand, but I fully understand that you would rather know a Peter.
And don't worry, I shall not post about people misunderstanding. Had you been horrible about it, I might have, but as it is, we're cool!
We're cool, right?
Just out of curiousity, what other posts of mine have troubled you? I've had a few people vaguely refer to troubling posts, but no one's giving details.

Well, you honestly posted to me no more than one hour after I defriended you, so I really didn't get the opportunity! ;)
And hey - you want to have your LJ that way, that's cool. I'm just probably not one of the people that you are trying to draw in with your journal. I'm a far more simple creature.
I don't think a lot of your posts are bad. Some of your more 'anarchistic' methodologies probably dissuade me from reading - the posts that are not behind a LJ-cut are an example of this. I use my LJ to keep in touch with friends mainly.
Besides, you will still be around at some of the Brisneyland events. So no hard feelings at all. I'll just keep in touch via Facebook. :)

Did you defriend me recently, or a while ago? It didn't show up on my little "Who's defriended me recently" chart...
