blah, i admit pride and prejudice brings up a lot about social issues way back in whatever century it was written, when women were regarded as property and had no choice but to marry well, but i can still relate to it in zero ways and i hate the language of it, and it bored me to death, and i didn't bother finishing it and probably never will thanks to sparknotes. the guy who plays darcy in the movie is really hot though. he should be in porn or something.

what exactly does p&p make you see in yourself?

yeah i really don't like the way it's written at all. i found it really dull to read and kept losing focus. it felt like nothing was really happening. but that's the point of it, i guess. you're supposed to realize that these rich people have nothing else to do but worry about getting married, and you don't see poor people or any other bigger issues in the novel because that's the way rich people actually lived, in a bubble ( ... )

i thought the novel was set in england? why would all the men be fighting in the french revolution? england had nothing to do with that...

but yeah, i guess to each their own. but there are so many better books about love :p
