I'm obsessed with buying cardigans and tights and leggings and scarves and jackets - you know, layers - which is baffling because it's mid-September and it's still like 106 out. it's as though I'm steadying myself for someone else's fall. sometimes I get really burned out on every 19 out of 20 days being warm and sunny, is all. no really, pick a ( Read more... )

by mid-October it's in the mid 80s to low 90s during the day, and only just chilly enough to put on a light jacket at night. I know it's laughable saying this to someone in Ohio, but coming after summer, 80 degree weather feels like the sun got all the heat sucked out of it in comparison.

it gets butt-ass cold up north, though! mountain towns like Flagstaff get buried in snow.

I love autumn clothing. I can't wait til it gets cool enough to start wearing it again. ;) Even up here on the Puget Sound we're still experiencing days in the 80s -- not exactly appropriate weather for boots and tights and coats!

fall layers are so much fun! every jacket or sweater makes me feel like I have exponentially more outfits. I'm on the search for boots right now, even though I won't need them until November or so.
