we saw the Mountain Goats this weekend and it was a compelling performance, just stories after stories being told. I think I've outgrown going to shows or something, since I only deliberately see live music about once a year these days. i share your secret. i used to go to random local shows in Phoenix all the time; i think i would be bored out of my mind by that now. i think it may also have something to do with being over 21 and having the option of going to bars.
i, too, made an exception for the Mountain Goats a few months ago. his between-song banter was almost amusing enough to justify the price of admission even without the music.

yeah, definitely. I enjoyed the banter more than a lot of the songs, just because it was so good. the show took place at a bar, which made it even better - there was a good rapport going.
