After ten years of working at it... and I do mean working...

I AM AT GOAL WEIGHT!

Total lost: 82 LBS!Well, OK. It didn't happen exactly the way I wanted it to happen. My original goal weight was 150. But for the past seven months I have been floating between 156 and 159. Back and forth. Up a pound, down 1.5, up .6, down .8. I finally went to my ( Read more... )

FANTASTIC!! Thank you for proving it can be done. There may be setbacks, and it won't happen soon, but with perseverance it can and will happen!

Also, making the call that you needed to adjust your goal weight took courage. Sometimes it's hard to admit that your body needs to be heavier than you want it to be. Sometimes letting go of what you think you should look like can be almost as hard as losing the weight itself, but you did it.

WOO-HOO!

Well, my doctor, who is an absolute dreamboat, has been telling me that for months now. He's said all along that our body will decide 'on its own' what it's best weight is if you just eat healthy and exercise... which I do.

It's been months now since I had an appreciable loss, so he gave me the official nod to raise my goal weight a bit. Actually I'm 4 pounds UNDER 160 and I may lose more yet. But I'm glad to have the stress of constant weigh-in's over.

And thank you!!!!

Wow, this is so great, I wish I could go this way, too. For me it's always an up and down and up and down; I know how I could reach my goal but it only works for a while for me until I go back to bad habits :(

But anyway, you finally reached your goal. Congratulations! And you are right, you are looking so much more healthy ... and happier :)

Are you in Weight Watcher's? Yeaaah, the bad habits are a problem. They are for me too. I solve it by just not having things that tempt me in my house. I haven't bought bread in 6 months. LOL!

Thanks so much!!!

Yes, I do / did WW, but only online. It did work fine when I started some years ago, but I guess it was a mistake to stop as soon as I had reached my goal. Since then it's more an up and down, I tried to go back to WW more than once but it didn't work longer than only a few weeks.

I the moment I feel much to stressed for a new start but I'm thinking about it to try out the ' normal WW' as soon as I have sold the house, moved into a new apartment. Maybe this is a good time for a new start.

I REALLY encourage you to actually join Weight Watcher's and GO TO THE MEETINGS! Truly. They are a fundamental part of the program. If you're only doing online, it's just a tracking tool. That makes it very easy to fudge, ignore, what have you. The meetings are the core of WW. There you get ideas, encouragement, advise, support... you name it. And you have to WEIGHT IN every week!! It keeps you honest... and food addicts need that.

You'll feel less stressed when you enjoy some success. Trust me on that one.

Good luck!

Woo-hoo! *whistles* That's fantastic, Rakshi. I'm thrilled that your doctor realized that you are at your 'natural' goal weight and wrote that letter. And I agree, you look much healthier and better now. *dances*

Thank you, dearest lady. I'm glad my doctor is the kind of guy he is. He's really wonderful. I ask him what to do about my sciatica and he says "walk more!". LOL! And he's right!!

It's really a relief.

Love...

Thank you!!! But honestly? *I* didn't set the goal really. My doctor did. WW won't let you just change your goal weight on a whim... or everyone would do it. LOL! I had to bring in a letter from my doctor saying that it was HIS recommendation. They can't dispute your doctor.... and my WW leader knows my MD. He's talked to my WW group in the past.

I'm happy about it, no question, though I wish I could have gotten to 150. It just doesn't seem to be in the cards. *sigh*
