I was a fan of The Client and The Cure so this makes me sad.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Actor Brad Renfro, whose career began promisingly with a childhood role in "The Client" but rapidly faded as he struggled with drugs and alcohol, was found dead Tuesday in his home. He was 25.

And so we watched The Golden Compass on its first screening day and it was big letdown. Sure the set, costumes and effects were wonderful but it failed to make one care for the fate of the characters. "Today, via a mistaken news report, there was what looked like a trial balloon for the possibility of civil society supporting Trillanes, a former coup plotter and terrorist. Scenario 1: Terrorists that tried to blow up a civilian facility are joining up with civil society groups. Talk about an act of desperation.
