I'm with you on this one - There's no way I'm going to be making out with some dude I know just because he suddenly looks like a female. Once you make that leap, it's a slippery slope. There's no threshold - next time you're drunk you could just be telling yourself 'they kinda look like a girl', and you end up getting punched in the face.

I think the friendships you develop with close friends are different from the get-go than those that you develop with significant others. For example, my best friend in high school was female, yet I could never ever consider any sort of romantic relationship with her. With relationships come the possibility of failure in those relationships, and in turn, the prospect of things being so weird as to never get back to a comfort level with him/her again. I just don't think I could take that extra step.

And besides, making out with my room mate Sean, no matter how attractive he could ever be, would just weird me out.

Matt there is no such thing as being just friends w/ a girl, sorry. There is always at least one point in every friendship where one of the people thinks about either a) hooking up w/ the other or b) have feelings that develop into a crush. I mean seriously just think about it...i bet that you will find out that there is some truth to this....

I completely disagree with that. Most of my close friends over the years have been girls. And for many of them, I have never felt the desire to take it a step further.
