I think I'm going to have my ENG 102 students read All Quiet on the Western Front in addition to the poetry, short fiction, and drama already in their text. The novel is the only traditional form of Western literature left out of the text, and All Quiet is fairly short and very relevent.

Today's meeting and workshop went well. My first meeting of the day is over. Seven new faculty members (myself and Nikki Cannon, a former Bethel-ite) gathered to hear from the dean and the registrar.

It was a nice, informal and informative meeting.

At one I have to go to a bigger, more formal meeting of all the faculty.

Joy.

And I'm not being sarcastic for once. It really is joyous
