Trying to determine whether I've written more male or female bad guys, I'm realizing I actually tend to write villainless plots. What. How did that happen?

Re-reading later Discworld novels makes me suddenly remember the vast difference in quality between the first two or three and the awesomeness PTerry came up with later on. It's a good thing to hold on to. I hope I'm better in my thirties than I am in my twenties, that's all.

So the book reviewer for the Chico paper did a review for my book Tendence and Cavile. Which is redundant, but I don't know how else to say it. He fulfilled his commission? I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THIS CAME FROM. I know I say that a lot. But seriously. I mean it this time. I thought it was going to be some slight  horror thing, and then it veered into this thing awful parents, and then it turned funny, and then it went back to slight horror. I AM CONFUSED.

( This was art class, Teacher called it, though there wasn't much difference between art and science or art and math or art and grammar. They all involved the same tools: six pencils, sheets of paper, marks on them made with the pencils. Books, usually. Books were just more folded papers with marks on them. Charlie thought he was pretty good with the marks, and it probably had something to do with the GIFT. He makes interconnected spirals that talk to each other across the white ream, and has involved conversations with the faint red bloodline down the margin of the loose leaf. )

Well, 2012 went by like a mad thing, didn't it? And I can't figure out why, but 2013 just seems so much more sci-fi. It's gonna be a sci-fi year, I can just tell.
