Podiatry Warning

I have developed a Morton's Neuroma, a nerve tumor on the bottom of my left foot. Basically, I can't walk without pain. I am scheduled to see a podiatrist today. But if he prescribes orthopedics or devices to help me walk, those costs are likely not covered.

When I went to physical therapy for my hand insurance didn't cover the splint I needed to continue training my finger when I was at home. I mean, it was only $20 dollars but you would think that they would do anything they could to keep me working since the only reason I was in physical therapy was because it hurt to type and since I am a programmer I need to be able to type.

I am better off, as we get coverage for othotics and such (up to 200 or 400 bucks).

Maybe this is a Canadian/American thing?

Most employers have a vested interest in their employees' being planted firmly at their desks, where they can't wander off and do "non-work screwing around" . . .
