Skin and brakes (or, the scooter of PAIN)
I've been back on my scooter for a month or two now. I broke down and bought a new motor controller since the old one, even after I got it working, would get hot enough to melt plastic.

Scooter Motor Controller: Potted and Shiotted
For those who don't know, I ride an electric scooter to work. It gets me there and back faster than driving and less painfully than a bicycle.

Mini-bar of DOOM!
It's con season (when is it not?) and I seem to have ended up in a hotel for a few days. (Fear not, this is a business trip.) It's late, so with nothing better to do, I go poking around the room and find... the mini-bar.

What a gas!
Home Depot, as well as several other retail stores in the area sell 4.25lb propane tanks. I figured I'd buy one, since it was an ideal size to use with a portable grill. The full tank is very easy to carry with one hand, can fit in a backpack, and has more than enough gas to run the grill continuously for 8 hours. So... why am I lugging my 20lb ( Read more... )
