So anyway, I'd like to go into all kinds of depth and stuff, but unfortunately, I'm on my lunch break, and therefore so don't have the time.

So anyway, the vampire thing has historically been associated with sexuality--well, ever since Bram Stoker wrote Dracula, anyway. You could say that Lord Ruthven, Byron's vampire character, was in a similar vein, but I think it really got big with Dracula ( ... )

Stoker's misogyny is obvious if you care to look for it; after all, when he was writing it, all sorts of women were speaking out, having opinions, agitating for the vote, and other "unfeminine" things. This clearly made him uneasy, as it did many other men of the era.
For instance, while female vampires exist, they generally prey upon children, not men...or even other females.
I could go on, but why?
