really, as long as they aren't blocking anonymouse.ws you can pretty much avoid any content filters you like. Of course, its kind of pathetic to circumvent company policy just so you can play with livejournal. At some point I'll have to go to a game with you just so I can figure out if the problem I have with baseball is from watching it on TV.

Lastly, the bicyclist in question... The squatter fuck from up the street?

heh. blocking LJ is actually a perk.
i reserve my content-filter bitching for their insistance that
the entirety of flickr and blogspot (and other blog sites)
    contain "suggestive attire / nudity".

SmartFilter tends to block entire domains.

also, no, other than being somewhat of jerk in one-to-one
conversation, said squatter hasn't done anything to inspire my ire.
i've also noticed that he's been hanging around Beleza quite a bit,
and seems to be in good with a number of the local artists.

something about "no one ever called Pablo Picasso an asshole"...

I hated the content filter at Heinz; half the time when I'd try to go to a very relevant developer article at msdn it would block it for being "a blog".

Of course, they also had the email filter that would prevent INTERNAL email from reaching me because it was "spam", and then I'd get in trouble for never responding to trouble tickets.

heh. yep, that's exactly what we're going through.

my favorite bits are that we MUST use Office for all official documentation and communication (because it's the security standard), but the connection for Microsoft Auto-Update for Mac is denied on the grounds that it's a security risk.

All those clubs in the S.S. look awful.

I like living in Oakland, I've lived here for 7 yrs. and I work here. I can think of worst places to be.

bike riding- I am still not so good at navigating the people and traffic- so that's why I ride at night, where the likely-hood of anything hitting me or me hitting anything else is drastically lessened.

Are you going to be out this Sat? Arvin will be spinning.
