September Polls

Aug 27, 2005 07:13

Voting ends at noon on Wednesday, the 30th. Results will be posted Wednesday night. If you just can't wait to find out what we're reading next and I'm not here to post the results, just look and see which books are winning and assume those will be the chosen ones. That should be self explanatory, I know, but just a reminder.

rabidpixie- I can set up polls on LJ so the voting buttons don't carry you to that annoying page with the pop ups. Well, maybe not this time round as voting's already begun, but next month maybe. I paid for this membership, so I figure I may as well use it to help you out, right? :)

I love the community, by the way, (found it through bookcrossing) and plan to read and be as active as possible.

oh really? that would be great! i used to have a paid membership but i can't keep track of when it expires and then for a community, i don't really use all the extras like icons that being a paid member would benefit from. but i could use the poll page. i'll let you know for next month. thanks!

wow...voting participation is WAY up! I wonder why it's higher on the 1st poll than the 2nd? Better / more familiar choices?

Who knows? I've heard of very little there, which is why I want to join in. Broaden the aul' horizons and such.

Tell me though, if I'm taking part (which I fully intend to) and JD Salinger wins, do I really have to read it? I'm part of the 50% of the world that hated Holden Caulfield. And I've never assassinated anyone. Maybe the other one's better than Catcher in the Rye, but my breath isn't being held...

OMG I am a Holden lover. So yes you must read it. Maybe give him a 2nd try? Though his style is pretty much the same in all his books

Sure, why not? Although I have to say I was very disappointed by the whole thing. I kept expecting something to happen and... It... Didn't... Which made me wonder.

I might make the suggestion that you ask people to put all those member survey's in one thread. I mean i'm not really complaining because I can just take this off my friends list (as I did) but its kindof a shame because I just added into the community two days ago and I suspect other people might have the exact same reaction as I did.
