i think you should try to help him out as long as you're able to while you're there but i also think you should call either the spca or other wildlife rescue and ask their opinion as well. or some animal rehabilitation shelter if there's one around.

That's really sweet...we domesticated a wild cat when we found it a few weeks old in a field with a bird-gash on its upper thigh. it still sustained some neurodamage which grew so a few years later it started to lose muscular control and we had to put it down :(.

thing is, all its brothers and sisters still have families around there, and we even discovered another kitten (even younger) due to its mother abandoning the nest when our motor home showed up. it scratched the hell outta my fingers when i syringe'd some milk onto my pinky to stimulate a teet. we ended up giving it away, but it was heartening to feel like i was with tango again.

anyway, i think birds are much harder to domesticate than mammals are / integrate with the wild once they are... so you should decide early on if you're going to commit to raising and looking after bandito. it may leave of its own volition, as all children do some day, though. make sure you get it deworm'd and rabbies-proof'd also if you are.

methinks once he's old enough to feed on his own, he will learn to do so. if you can handle the feeding schedule for the time being, perhaps you can continue to do so for a couple weeks and then see how he's progressing. i agree with wingz, talking to a SPCA or wildlife rescue would be a good idea, just to get their opinion and if he's too much for you then they might be able to take care of him or refer you to another organization who does that sort of thing.

I want you all to meet him, he's soooo adorable. Sometimes when he's chilling on my finger he'll practice standing on one leg, and tuck the other one up inside him. It's insanely cute. I'd honestly love to keep him for as long as I could, I have a funny feeling if I let him go he'd come back, or at least stick around. Ryan on the other hand thinks he's annoying, and takes up to much of my time. He is honestly and admittedly jealous of Bandito, which really sucks because I love them both a lot. Today I am going to call and see what all my options are. I miss you guys *Hugz*
Oh and on a side note we'll be comming to Vancouver the beginning on next month before Shambhala, so you all better be ready for the return of the awesome!!
