Glorious Day

The Status of Things...
Doug is still in the hospital at Inova - thankfully in a regular hospital room and breathing on his own. It seems that he's on "pain management" these days as he's still severely suffering from last Friday's knee surgery (muscle flap from his calf and skin graft from his thigh ( Read more... ) -
!#$!$# - I could just scream!
I'm so incredibly peeved right now that it's putting the final lid on my exhaustion for today.
Like I said earlier, Doug was moved to the Intermediate Care Unit and the past two days feels more like two weeks.
Yesterday - Winston and I had to stand sentinel over Doug's injured leg because of the "last rites" taking place in the bed next to him ( Read more... ) -
Doug Update
The doctors moved Doug from the acute trauma to an Intermediate ICU yesterday! There, they will begin weaning him from those heavy duty medications, ventilator, lung drain, etc. etc. etc ( Read more... ) -
Good News!
I'm back home from the hospital and am happy to report that Doug is looking better!! The tracheonomy went successful and he appears to be breathing more on his own and less on the ventilator. He's been taken off the antibiotics since his leg looks like it got over being so "angry" (I kept telling it that it would have a much better time staying ( Read more... ) -
Taking a breather...
I took a breather of sorts today - if you can call it that. Whilst Doug was undergoing more treatment, I spent the day handling the business end of this mess. Lawyers, insurance, HR, bills, receipts ... oh my. It's also starting to look like there may not be much insurance either. Doesn't that take the cake.
