smart thing to do: dvr the oscars so you don't actually have to listen to the sappy speeches or watch the awards you don't care about. Just fast forward to the good stuff.

dumb thing to do: assume the oscars will run to time and not over, so your dvr recording cuts off at best song, leaving best actor/actress and film out of your recording. d'oh!

I'm also sad that I didn't get to hear Melissa Etheridge thank her wife on national television! That would have been quite a moment. :)

heh, I was thinking that, and I was thinking that people wouldn't be dumb enough to not extend their play, but I was thinking some people would extend it a half hour and still miss stuff.

Do you not have time-shifting? I think it's still on for the westies

Yeah that's actually my favorite part of the Oscars. I kept waiting for it to come on and I missed it.
