A/N: So this is
northernveil ’s birthday fic cause she provided me with a picture collection and prompts that utterly killed my brain. Someone should throw her this kind of party. Also, Spencer and Ryan’s birthdays being only a few days apart? It’s actually true. Cause bandom’s awesome like that.
Chronicles.
The party maybe hadn’t quite been planned right. Well, of course it hadn’t, Spencer thought grimly, seeing that no one had actually let him in on the fact there would be a party in the first place and he was usually the guy organizing shit like this.
Every year, the party happened after Ryan’s birthday, usually the Saturday after. Never in between their birthdays and never before Ryan’s. Spencer liked a little predictability to his life.
Now though, there was gonna be a party. At Shane’s and Brendon’s, which meant they’d been in on the planning, the scheming bastards. As had Jon, who had sauntered into their house with a spare key casually this afternoon like he wasn’t supposed to be in Chicago. On the other side of the goddamn country.
His band was obviously not to be trusted.
That wasn’t the surprising part, really. He’d mostly gotten over it by the time Jon had set his bags down and made himself comfortable on the couch.
“There’s something.” Jon looked away briefly, then found Spencer’s eyes again. “I got you something. And. I thought maybe you’d better have it now.” He grinned a little. “Cause we all know you’re shit with surprises.”
“Yeah, no kidding”, Spencer shot back, pretending he wasn’t maybe a tiny bit pissed at being kept in the dark like that.
“Also, your birthday was yesterday, so it’s not really cheating.”
Spencer sometimes wondered if Brendon wasn’t the only guy in his band that was secretly five years old.
Jon rooted through his bag for a moment and handed him a present and Spencer just stared for a moment before shrugging and tearing the paper off. He stared some more for quite a while after that.
“I’m not sure about… you know, there’s obviously a bunch of etiquette to this shit that I have no clue about,” Jon mumbled and Spencer was a little startled to hear Jon of all people sounding nervous.
“So you know, if you don’t, it’s no worries.”
Spencer looked up at that. Looked down again and shook his head in disbelief.
“Jon. Fuck. Jon.”
Inside the wrapping paper was a square black box, very much like a jewellery box, just a lot bigger. Inside, resting on top of a dark red velvet cushion was a broad leather collar, black, smooth and shiny and fucking perfect.
Left and right of it were matching thin black leather bracelets, unobtrusive and inconspicuous and engraved with the same intricate design of the letters S and R, Spencer’s own initial above Ryan’s, swirling into each other, into something you couldn’t decipher if you didn’t know.
“Holy fuck, Jon.”
Jon knew how to read him, which was probably a good thing right now cause Spencer didn’t even recognize his own voice.
“You’re welcome?” he grinned and added, “you know, the way I figured it, it’s. I’m not gonna be in a band with people wearing fucking collars around their necks on stage. The eyeliner I could deal with, but that’s as far as I’m prepared to go, man. But… I thought, maybe… those bracelets would work?”
Oh. Spencer had gotten as far as pretty, but his brain hadn’t reached the part about permanent.
“Jon,” he repeated stupidly, not even caring how much his reaction wasn’t exactly smooth and maybe his voice wasn’t either and Jon just laughed, open and happy and a little smug.
Spencer knew he wasn’t laughing at him. Well, at him, maybe. At his possibly idiotic facial expression, but not at what Ryan and he were, what they had.
“Happy birthday, Spence”, Jon mumbled with a quiet smile and maybe the hug Spencer responded with was a little stupidly intense, too.
“By the way,” Jon grumbled somewhere next to his shoulder, not really struggling to get away, “I got similar ones for Shane and Brendon,” making it sound like an afterthought, like it didn’t mean what it actually did.
“I still think you’re all fucking nuts, obviously, but. Kinda late for the voice of reason.”
“How you even…” Yeah, communication. Fuck that. The part of his brain responsible for such things had obviously checked out.
“I’m genius,” Jon replied easily, still grinning like he’d just been given a present instead of the other way around. “Also, there’s no way you’re gonna be outdone at your own fucking party by Gabe and Beckett.”
Whoa. What? Spencer blinked. Words still weren’t forthcoming.
Jon chewed on his lip for a moment before sighing, obviously deciding he might as well ruin everything right now.
“Yeah, they’re here. We were on the same flight. Actually, Gabe… Gabe’s kinda the one who came up with the idea. You know how he gets.”
Yeah. Pretty much no one denied Gabe Saporta if Gabe Saporta had a plan.
“I’m gonna. Ryan…”
Jon nodded. “I’m heading over to headquarters, then. They probably just got the bong out and forgot about the festivities altogether. Also, Gabe’s gonna kill me if you don’t at least fake being surprised.”
So Spencer found Ryan. He briefly wondered if this had been a really shit idea when he’d put the collar on Ryan and told him to open his eyes and Ryan had just frozen for a moment, but then Ryan had beamed at him with the light of a thousand suns. Spencer had never seen Ryan look like that.
“I,” Ryan started, but they didn’t need this right now, so Spencer just pulled him closer and mumbled mine and they left it at that. There were a million things he wanted to say, but that was what it came down to, just that one word.
“You still get to say no”, he mumbled when they were in the car, on the way to there not-so-secret birthday-bash. He needed Ryan to know that. “Ry, you still… if there’s something. Anything. Tell me, okay?” Ryan had nodded briefly, and again, they’d left it at that.
Brendon opened the door, wearing an almost but not quite identical collar, his a dark chocolate brown instead of Ryan’s black, the swirling letters just a little different.
They stared at each other for a second and then Ryan grabbed Brendon and pulled him into a kiss while Spencer just stood there, vaguely thinking oh, floorshow before Shane appeared in the hallway and… well. Pretty much did exactly the same to Spencer. With Spencer. Whatever.
When they pulled apart for air, Shane looked at Spencer and jerked his head in Brendon’s direction. At least Spencer assumed he had, it was a bit hard to tell seeing Ryan and Brendon were trying to crawl into each other’s mouths or something. He stepped a little closer to Brendon and turned him away from Ryan and softly kissed him on the forehead while Shane mirrored the motion with Ryan and there was an unexpected giggle from the hallway, where Gabe and Bill had positioned themselves to catch the show.
“Forehead kisses, dude. Fucking Panic!” Gabe commented, arm slung low around William’s waist, but he kinda sounded equal amounts of turned on and proud, so Spencer decided he could run with the stereotype just this once. Fucking Gabe.
“Also, Walker, you stupid ass, you totally told them”, he continued and Jon shrugged. “They’re my band.” And more, Spencer added silently, but he didn’t voice it. Not just yet. They had all night.
“So,” he said instead, “what’s the deal? Is there any actual… you know, food and beverages? Or did everyone just plan as far as getting stoned and fucking each other’s brains out?”
“You know it, man” Saporta shot back, but when they got inside, the table was laid for four. Spencer wondered just how difficult a headcount could be, but just as he was about to point out the lack of organizational skills and general common sense, Shane smiled at him, once again knowing just where Spencer’s train of thought had led him.
“We’re not actually stupid, Spence. Gabe, Jon, care to join us?”
Okay, so maybe Spencer was the stupid one here, cause for a moment, he didn’t move at all and after that, he turned round to Ryan, the movement betraying a little more urgency then he would’ve liked. Cause. Birthday. Ryan’s birthday. It had never, ever been only Spencer’s birthday, it had always been theirs and Spencer had made sure Ryan knew that, every year. It had always been Spencer’s house, Spencer’s mom setting everything up, but it had been both their party.
Ryan ducked his head with a tiny, tiny smile playing on his lips and dropped to his knees without so much as a word.
“Well, fuck”, Gabe commented and Spencer ran a hand through Ryan’s hair briefly, before sitting down at the table. He definitely shared the sentiment. Jon almost managed to look like he wasn’t about to die and threw himself on the remaining chair, not taking his eyes off Ryan as Ryan crawled over to Spencer and rested his head against Spencer’s thigh with a small, happy noise.
Gabe glanced at William, and damn, he didn’t waste time taking his place. And how the fuck did he even move like that, seriously? It pretty much looked like… well. Porn.
“He’s totally a cat,” Jon observed with a delighted giggle and Spencer really couldn’t quite get his head around how much none of the situation seemed awkward, more so when Bill slinked over and rubbed his head against Jon’s legs and Jon just grinned wider and petted Bill’s head.
They were all fucked. Above and beyond fucked. Spencer loved every second of it.
“Bren, get us some food?” Shane asked softly and Brendon did, sorting them out with everything they wanted before lowering himself on the floor next to Shane’s chair.
Spencer wanted about seven pairs of eyes to be able to take everything in all at once, but as it was, he just kept looking back and forth between everyone in between fucking delicious bites of lasagna and silently blessed Shane and Brendon for the foresight of choosing a glass table, even though it made sneaking food to Ryan a little obvious.
It wasn’t like Shane and Gabe weren’t doing the exact same thing, though. Maybe the usual rules for feeding pets from the table didn’t apply in this particular instance.
“So, I was thinking breaking into your house and building a dungeon in your basement”, Saporta drawled when they had finished the meal. “But Jonny here pointed out that I’m too tall and noisy to go unnoticed. Also, no good with my hands unless it’s with a dude.”
“Jon’s awesome”, Spencer responded and he definitely meant it from the bottom of his heart. Jon beamed at him while he was feeding spoons of ice-cream to Ryan surreptitiously.
“Yeah, cause you totally wouldn’t use it, right?” Saporta smirked and Shane laughed. Bastards, his friends, all of them. Along with the awesome, obviously.
“Anyway, I got you guys something else.”
“It’s not a hooker, right?” Cause. Saporta.
“Didn’t think you could use one, Spence. The way I picture it, Ryan’s enough to almost wear you out.” The leering in Ryan’s general direction indicated he spent a lot of time picturing it. Then again, who could blame him? Ryan, at this particular moment, was licking ice cream off Jon’s fingers.
Saporta got up and walked out to the hall, William all around his legs on the floor and getting in his way until he leaned down and pushed him away gently and yeah, that was pretty fucking hot, too.
The present turned out to be wrist and ankle restrains matching the collars Jon had given them, the same soft brown and black leather, the same swirling initials branded into them.
“Chicago”, Jon replied to the question Spencer hadn’t asked and that probably explained a lot.
“So, make them try them on already? We travelled half-way across the country in the hope we might get some fucking action,” Saporta commented when he was fed up with the “thank yous” and “you’re welcomes” being exchanged. “And can we move to the couch?”
Gabe and Jon did just that, William slinking after them while Spencer slowly started undressing Ryan. Shane might have been going for the same thing, but Brendon wriggled and struggled out of his clothes so fast Shane didn’t get a chance to help, so he just stood there watching and giggling.
“Dude, you seriously… he didn’t even use his hands”, Gabe commented and he sounded pretty impressed. Not everyone had been exposed to Brendon’s secret Houdini powers.
“Bren likes being a puppy,” Shane grinned and leaned down to fasten the soft leather restraints on Brendon’s wrists and ankles. It looked very much like a game of twister for a moment, but Shane just laughed through it and petted Brendon’s head affectionately.
For once, Spencer couldn’t even find it in himself to be jealous, cause yeah, Ryan and he had come a long way. Ryan was completely still under his touch, but his muscles were loose and relaxed and there was nothing about his posture that suggested he was tense or nervous. One of his hands was curled into a loose fist on the floor and he wasn’t bowing his head in shame but in submission. It was fucking breathtaking. This was Ryan, his Ryan and he wasn’t scared.
When Spencer looked up, his eyes met Jon’s and there was a flicker of longing, of tenderness, of something passing over Jon’s face, but he didn’t look away.
Spencer took a breath and glanced over at Shane and Brendon, who were still rolling around the floor, so he obviously wasn’t gonna get help with this from their corner. Spencer considered girlfriends for a moment, considered Jon being mostly straight, considered the band, pretending that he hadn’t made his decision on this ages ago.
Jon still didn’t look away. “You want?” he mumbled, hand resting on the back of Ryan’s neck and squeezing gently and Jon’s breath hitched in his throat.
He took that as a yes and William’s eyes narrowed briefly, making him look like a particularly vicious cat ready to dig claws into sensitive body parts. Gabe hadn’t missed that look and snickered.
Spencer had figured William for the slightly possessive (yeah, make that obsessive) type, so he wasn’t surprised. Jon didn’t even seem to have noticed, or maybe he was just too used to Bill trying. Spencer wouldn’t have been surprised by that, either.
Brendon glanced up at Shane the way that made puppy dog eyes no longer just a turn of phrase and Shane grinned at Jon.
“Can you handle another?” he asked and Brendon bounded over there excitedly when Jon couldn’t quite bring himself to answer.
Gabe leaned forward a little and tightened his hold on Bill’s hair, scratching his head and while Bill was oh so definitely sulking, he didn’t try to move.
Ryan’s and Brendon’s eyes met somewhere very close to the area of Jon’s crotch and Brendon leaned over to lick across Ryan’s face with a small delighted noise that didn’t exactly sound human. Jon just sat and stared down at them stupidly.
“Dude, word is getting head works a lot better if you get your cock out”, Gabe mumbled with a hint of amusement.
“Fuck. Yeah. Fuck.”
Jon obliged pretty quickly after he’d gotten over the initial shock, it seemed like he was about as enthusiastic as Brendon, who was salivating like some Pavlovian experiment.
Spencer didn’t have to look at Shane to know Shane was watching him, but he hadn’t expected Shane moving over to him with a small smirk.
“About your present, Spence” he said in that low voice that did things to Spencer. “Wanna fuck me?” So apparently this was were Spencer almost, almost had a heart attack, but when he looked at Shane, Shane just smiled, same as ever, open and inviting. And. “Fuck yeah.” Cause that pretty much summed it up.
It was weird in the best way possible to see Shane easily shrugging off his clothes and bracing himself against the glass dining table, still smiling. He was so very casual about it, so fucking generous. He was also an incredibly awesome fuck, languid and appreciative and.
“Shit, Shane”, Spencer growled as he pushed in and felt Shane relaxing around him almost immediately, like there was nothing to it. Like they did this every day. Which… they should. More. All the time. Definitely.
Shane pushed back against him slightly, meeting each thrust perfectly, matching their rhythm to about the same pace their boys had going around Jon’s cock, their mouths and tongues occasionally meeting while Jon stared down at them, hands resting on their necks and stroking gently. It was possibly one of the hottest things Spencer had ever seen.
Gabe was watching, hand still carding through William’s hair distractedly and William had apparently got over not being the centre of attention for once cause he’d just curled up close to Gabe’s legs, moving his head under Gabe’s touch while he licked his lips distractedly.
Ryan and Brendon were taking turns swallowing Jon’s cock, each pulling off completely before the other took Jon down his throat and the movement of Jon’s hands on their necks had become more frantic until he choked out “fuck, guys, stop” and Gabe giggled “Fucking straight guys” just as Brendon pulled off Jon’s dick, no doubt doing one of those magic things, cause Jon came. Hard. All over Ryan’s face. He probably would have looked mortified if he hadn’t been that busy shuddering through what sounded like a pretty good orgasm.
Brendon cocked his head and leaned over to lick Ryan’s face clean eagerly and Spencer felt Shane tensing under him, which was definitely good timing, cause no one could not get off on that sight, seriously.
Jon looked like he’d just survived a surprisingly pleasant Dementor attack, basically. Spencer pulled out slowly, resting a hand on Shane’s back for a moment by way of thanks. He’d verbalize his appreciation, but. No words.
