Will the two varieties of corn be pollinating at different times?

They should be. "Spring Treat" matures 2-3 weeks prior to "Painted Hills".

I am jealous of your diagramming skills. I really have to get out there and measure the garden so I can make my own diagram.

Google Sketchup FTW! Though it's a bit overkill for a 2-D drawing, the scaling and measuring tools are really useful...it took me a lot less time to do the drawings this way than it would've by hand, which is how I usually do these.
