Oh my God, I am so tired.
I burned the candle at too many ends, and I am paying for it today. I think this is the fallout from packing too many commitments into my evening shift week and into last week as well, especially a bunch of house visits.
I had lofty plans to do some cleaning today, but mostly all I've managed is a nap. I am trying to view today as a "radical rest" ( Read more... ) -

Night shifts sometimes make for very long days
Normally working night shifts means I sleep most of the day away, but this morning I had my meeting with Ministry & Counsel at 9am, so exactly half an hour after I got home from work. Naturally the meeting went far past the hour it usually takes and lasted nearly two hours in total, and so by the time I was able to crawl to bed it was nearly noon. ( Read more... ) -
How can I be so busy when I basically do nothing?
It really does feel like my days just zoom by, and I have nothing to show for them except working and sleeping. I haven't even been cooking much during the past couple of weeks because of my evening and night shifts. Sleep is an underrated commodity
I managed to get to Costco this morning as planned, and was pleasantly surprised to see that not only had they opened early (God, why would you ever subject your employees to that?), but the store was not crammed full of people. Today (well, technically yesterday now, but night shifts make time weird) we went to visit the house I mentioned in yesterday's entry, and it is what some of my friends would term a "friend-shaped house." Mistakes were made
I stopped drinking coffee today, and now my head hurts. I understand that caffeine withdrawal is a thing, I have done this before. I'm just going to whine about it a little bit while it happens. The worst part is that the withdrawal headache is going to get worse before it gets better, and I'm supposed to stop taking NSAIDS as well, so I'm stuck ( Read more... ) -
An update about nothing
Today has not been nearly as productive because I've been in limbo for the past two hours or so trying to arrange a house viewing. Between KK not answering her messages and now my real estate agent not answering hers, I feel like I am playing go-between between two gaping voids into which all attempts at communication vanish forever.

Science! Industry! PROGRESS!
Okay, maybe not, but I have been pretty productive today.
I have processed almost all of the meat I bought--and by "processed" I mean I have separated it out into portions, vacuum-sealed it, labelled it along with today's date, and put it in the freezer for future use.
