Nothing much has happened this week. My jobs at college are in full swing. My Writing Center website job is the hardest. When I want to change the tiniest thing on the site, I have to spend a long time figuring out exactly how to do it. It can get extremely frustrating. I'm revising my novel, and there's a chapter where I talk at length about a new kind of drug. This drug is causing all kinds of problems in my futuristic society. Last night I got a book signed by Billy Collins, the U.S. Poet Laureate for 2001-2003. I'm pretty stoked about it because I've never done something like it before. I really enjoy his poetry, so I was excited to see him in person. I would describe him as serious with a subtle sense of humor. And yes, he was a little intimidating. For class, I have to read a few stories from 2007's Best American Short Stories. The 2007 anthology was edited by Stephen King. That obviously influenced the kind of story that got selected.
