Interesting, especially since I have been reading lots and lots on this basic subject. I just finished Stephen Hawking's Brief History of Time, followed by nobel prize winner in physics Robert Laughlin's book A Different Universe and now a book that is trying to tie all that quantum physics stuff to consciousness/soul. It is fascinating as hell, especially after having read some Jung in the past. Quantum Physics is sort of validating the idea of a collective conscious or unconscious--which would be my guess as to where that energy comes from and, I guess, returns to at death. Though honestly, I really don;t know yet how I feel at all about a "soul". I mean, if we use soul and consciousness interchangeably, I feel better, since it seems less of a religious idea. But whatever you call it, it is very fascinating.

Have you also read Fred Allan Wolfe? He does the same thing as it sounds like Laughlin is doing... Do you own the book? Can I borrow if so? I'm very good at returning books, and you know where I live :)
