But: 2) Targeted advertising included in the email based on buzzword algorithms, near as I can tell. In theory, no human eye at Google will ever peruse your email.
Mmmm... GMail... they haven't invited me into the warm, comforting glow, yet. I remain outside, cold, wet from the storms that rage outside of Google's welcoming shelter.
I'm interested in a gmail account for a variety of reasons. One project I'm working on may have some effect on what they're doing. I want to see their feature set and how they present it in a UI. I'm also interested in how good their spam blocking is.

It also has fewer features than Squirrelmail, which is not cool.
