As a diabetic, I salute you - even though I have a meter, it's surprising how often how I'm feeling does not match up with the numbers. It must be SO much harder to deal with a "numberless" system for how you're doing!

I have to take care of my brain much like a diabetic has to take care of their blood sugar.

This is the only analogy that actually seems to stick with people when I try to explain mental illness to them.

I can relate to this, I keep thinking if I don't want to have an mental issue I can will it away. But what quality of life do I have disinfecting the entire kitchen for 3 hours every time I cook chicken because what if raw chicken particles are still somehow floating on some surface somewhere?!?!?!?!?!

I am tired of people joking about OCD with the way-the-fuck overused line of "Oh really? Will you come and clean my house?"
