This tale is one that's been going around and around in my head and has wanted to be written since before I wrote the four about Summerstar. But, as one thing leads to another, it's had to wait until now. Here goes

Oh, how *many* times did I get stuck on the long road to Portland?

Pro tip: Fake off towards Yelm just north of Centralia. Go all the way through Yelm and up the backside of the Base (a lovely drive through an avenue of pines) all the way to Spanaway. In Spanaway take the first big left, it's a bypass around downtown. Cross the 512, pull into the gas station and stop and pull out your phone and look at the traffic. If 5 by the mall and around to the Dome to Fife is good, take it, otherwise, 512 to Puyallup, then 161 Enchanted Parkway (ahem!) to 5 at Federal Way. (If you miss 161, you can take 167, but sometimes that gets.... interesting... getting back to 5 and points north...)
