Excuse me mister...you didn't realize you had to make a lane change until the road started to split. And your "I need to make a lane change statement" was more "I think I'm supposed to be in that lane..."
The moral of my story is...you shouldn't trust men and their "gadgets." If we had looked up the directions on google maps (like I wanted to) we would have taken the turnpike and had no opportunities to get lost. Not to mention we would have gotten there faster.
Hey, I had plenty of time to make that lane change and stay on course, but I had to listen to my wife. That the only thing I did wrong was listening to her.
You blame everything on men, remember you believe that men started WW3 just to get women to shave there legs.
Um...WW3 hasn't technically happened yet, and I don't believe that WW2 was started so that woman would shave their legs. Nor do I blame everything on men. However, men do tend to blame everything (or most things) on women.
Secondly, you listened to Aunt J'aime because you believed that she may have been right. There was no "I don't think that's right, but I'll do it anyway" when you followed her directions. Again, I would like to point out that if your GPS weren't so confusing with it's "Stay on the current road in 2 miles," we probably wouldn't have gotten lost. It's so typical of men to blame something on a woman...you were the one driving.
You like to THINK that woman can't drive or follow directions, but I think it's women who give better directions then men. A man will tell me what street to turn on and I have to be able to see the street sign in enough time to make the turn. A woman will tell me to turn at the McDonald's which I can see from a mile away.
I have to pipe in with my two cents. First, I give better directions then Andy. It isn't a male/female thing it is a person thing.
Second, we used a GPS in Tennesee when visiting Amber. It told us to take this back in the middle of nowhere road rather then the highway. It took us twice as long, and included two tunnels under the railroad tracks which are one lane blind curves. You pray no one is coming the other way or you are going to crash and die.
I don't know who thought these were a good idea, but I seriously wanted to write to the GPS people and let them know this is NOT a route but a death sentence.
Whatever happened to just using maps and figuring out your own directions? I miss that.
GPS are great. When we took our two wrong truns, it was not a easy "just get back on the Hi-way". We had to drive thur a small towns.
And if you get off someware and don't know where, How do you find yourself on a map. And you can ask the Gps to show you the location of a local Resturant, that is very handy when your travling.
